Perishable Goods

Due to the nature of our products — including fresh meat, produce, and groceries — we generally cannot accept returns once the items have been delivered or collected, unless:

  • The product is damaged, spoiled, or incorrect upon delivery or collection

  • The product has not met the standard of quality you reasonably expected

If you receive an item in an unacceptable condition, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or collection.

Non-Perishable Goods

For non-perishable items (e.g., packaged goods, household items):

  • Returns are accepted within 14 days of purchase if the item is unopened and in its original condition.

  • A valid receipt or proof of purchase is required.

  • Refunds will be issued to your original payment method once the item is inspected and approved.

Order Cancellations

  • Before dispatch or collection: You may cancel your order and receive a full refund.

  • After dispatch: If your order includes perishable goods, it may not be eligible for cancellation.

  • Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your order.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive an incorrect or damaged item:

  • Email us at orders@hanleysupermarketandbutchers.co.uk with your order number and a photo of the item (if applicable).

  • We will offer a replacement, store credit, or refund depending on the situation.

  • Claims must be made within 24 hours of delivery.

Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method.

  • Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider.

 

Exceptions

We may not be able to offer refunds in the following cases:

  • Products that have been used, opened, or not stored correctly after delivery

  • Products returned without proof of purchase

  • Claims made after the return period has expired

Consumer Rights

This policy does not affect your legal rights under UK consumer protection law.
If a product is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
